GE VMIPMC-5565 is a PMC(PCI Mezzanine Card) node card in the reflective memory network products of GE Fanuc/VMIC 5565 series. As a PMC daughter card, it is installed on the host board and interconnected with other nodes through optical fiber, thus realizing high-speed and deterministic data sharing among distributed systems.
Core function
Hardware-level data synchronization: The data written in the local reflective memory is automatically broadcast to the same address of all nodes in the network by the on-board circuit, and the transmission delay between nodes is usually in the order of several hundred nanoseconds to 1 microsecond, almost without the participation of the host processor.
Zero participation of host CPU: network operation does not occupy host CPU resources, and data transmission is completely completed by hardware DMA, which realizes deterministic real-time communication.
Interrupt mechanism: Supports any node to broadcast interrupt signals to designated nodes or the whole network for system process synchronization.

Network rate: The serial rate is 2.12 Gbaud, and the maximum transmission rate is 43 MB/s(4-byte packet) to 174 MB/s(64-byte packet).
On-board memory: 64 MB or 128 MB SDRAM reflective memory optional.
Node capacity: A single network can support up to 256 nodes.
Transmission distance: The longest multimode fiber is 300 meters, and the longest single-mode fiber is 10 kilometers.
Bus interface: 64-bit/66 MHz PCI, compatible with 3.3V or 5V level.
DMA channel: 2 independent DMA channels, supporting error detection and redundant transmission mode.
Supporting software and compatibility
Supports Windows NT/2000, VxWorks, Linux, and other operating systems, and provides standard DLLs for VC, VB, LabVIEW, and other development platforms to call.
It is compatible with PCI specification (VMIPCI-5565) and VME specification (VMIVME-5565) networks in the same series, and can be used for mixed networking.
