GE VMIPCI-5565-110000 is a PCI bus member of the VMIC-5565 series reflective memory real-time network products, which is used to realize high-speed and deterministic data sharing from memory to memory in distributed systems. The board connects multiple independent computers or controllers into a reflective memory network through optical fiber, and the data written into the memory of any node is automatically broadcast to the same address of all nodes by hardware without the participation of the processor.

Core specification
Network rate: the serial rate is 2.12 Gbaud, the dynamic packet size is 4 to 64 bytes, and the maximum transmission rate is 174 MB/s.
Node capacity: A single network can support up to 256 nodes, and the node ID is set by an on-board jumper (0–255).
On-board memory: 64 MB or 128 MB SDRAM (model suffix may correspond to specific capacity configuration).
Bus interface: PCI 64-bit/66 MHz, conforming to PCI Revision 2.2, and compatible with 3.3V and 5.0V levels.
Transmission distance: the longest multimode fiber is 300 meters, and the longest single-mode fiber is 10 kilometers.

Core function
Hardware-level data synchronization: the data written in the local reflective memory is automatically transmitted to the same address of all nodes by network hardware, and the transmission delay between nodes is about 400 nanoseconds, without the participation of the CPU or software protocol stack.
Interrupt mechanism: supports four-level user-defined interrupts and can broadcast interrupt signals to designated nodes or the whole network for system process synchronization. Interrupts always follow the data to ensure that the data has arrived before the interrupt is acknowledged.
DMA and data integrity: equipped with two independent DMA channels, supporting error detection and redundant transmission mode (data is sent in two copies, and the backup is used when the first error occurs).
Network topology: supports a ring daisy-chain topology; each node retransmits the received transmission data and can insert its own data between the transmitted ones.
