Woodward 5501 Series MicroNet Chassis Power Supply Modules

Series Overview

The Woodward 5501 Series is the official factory power supply platform exclusively engineered for the MicroNet™ Digital Control System, split into two core product branches: Simplex power supplies for standard MicroNet Plus 8-slot /14-slot chassis, and TMR redundant kernel power supplies for MicroNet Triple Modular Redundant safety control racks (Model 5453-279 TMR Chassis, 5453-277 TMR Power Supply Chassis) documented in Industrial Turbine Catalog Manual 25182.
This full lineup includes three core part numbers:
  • 5501-467: MicroNet Plus Simplex Power Supply (standard single system chassis power source)

  • 5501-470: MicroNet TMR Base Kernel Power Supply

  • 5501-471: MicroNet TMR Upgraded Enhanced Redundant Power Supply

All 5501 series modules adopt a rack-mount single-slot form factor matching MicroNet backplane standards, support hot-swap maintenance without full system shutdown, integrate multi-stage EMI filtering, overvoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature self-protection circuits, and provide stable isolated regulated DC power for CPU boards, analog/digital I/O cards, communication transceivers, and field terminal accessories.

As the direct upgrade iteration of early TMR power supplies 5501-370 (24VDC TMR PS) and 5501-380 (120VAC/DC TMR PS) shown in the catalog sheet, the 5501-470 / 5501-471 optimizes internal power conversion efficiency, fault diagnostic LED indicators, and shock-resistant hardware structure for long-term 24/7 operation in power plant, offshore, and refinery turbine control rooms.
