GUTOR PDW Industrial Three-Phase Online Double Conversion UPS

Safeguard Critical Power in the Harshest Industrial Environments

Introduction

From nuclear power plant instrumentation, oil & gas refineries, thermal power stations, chemical facilities, to rail transit systems, any grid fluctuation, power outage or electrical noise can trigger production shutdowns, safety hazards and massive financial losses.
The GUTOR PDW series is an industrial online double-conversion three-phase UPS built with thyristor-controlled rectifiers and IGBT-PWM inverters. Equipped with galvanic isolation transformers, seismic-resistant enclosures and IEC 60880 nuclear-grade compliance, it delivers uninterrupted, long-backup, ultra-reliable and fully customised power protection for mission-critical loads, operating steadily under extreme conditions including high temperature, dust, vibration and heavy electromagnetic interference.

1. Robust Industrial Build for Severe Operating Conditions

Designed to withstand the toughest industrial environments with comprehensive structural, coating and material upgrades:

Full Galvanic Isolation Protection

A transformer base delivers complete galvanic isolation to eliminate electric shock risks and suppress harmful electrical noise, isolating stray ground potential interference for impulse nonlinear loads such as motors and inverters. Tinned copper bars are available as an optional upgrade for corrosive, humid and chemical environments.

Wide Temperature & Humidity Tolerance

  • Operating temperature range: -10°C to +55°C; storage temperature: -20°C to +70°C

  • All printed circuit boards feature conformal coating to defend against moisture, dust, chemicals and extreme temperature swings.

  • Accepts up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity, ideal for coastal, chemical and underground facilities

Seismic Reinforced Enclosure

  • Certified for seismic resistance up to 1.0 g peak spectral acceleration; structural reinforcements available upon request for high-seismic zones.

  • Standard IP20 ingress protection, upgradable to IP42 / NEMA 2 for dust and splash resistance

  • Standard light grey RAL 7035 industrial paint; custom cabinet colours supported

Redundant Cooling for Low Maintenance

N+1 monitored two-speed fans eliminate single-point cooling failure. Noise output ranges from 60 to 75 dBA depending on the model, with system efficiency up to 91% to balance stable heat dissipation and energy consumption.

2. Nuclear-Grade Reliable Architecture Eliminating Single Points of Failure

PDW’s controller firmware and hardware fully comply with IEC 60880 for nuclear power plant safety applications, with a multi-redundant design to maximise system availability.

Mature Double-Conversion Power Topology

The 6-pulse thyristor rectifier can simultaneously deliver 100% rated load power and boost-charge batteries to support extended backup durations. It outputs pure sinusoidal power:
  • Static voltage regulation: ±1% across 0–100% load

  • Dynamic voltage deviation: ±4% under full-load surge

  • Regulation recovery time: <25 ms

  • THD ≤3% for linear loads; ≤5% for nonlinear loads per IEC 62040-3

Multi-Level Overload & Short-Circuit Protection

  • Continuous operation at 105% load; 125% overload for 10 minutes; 150% overload for 1 minute

  • Inverter limits short-circuit current to 200% of the rated value within 100 ms.

  • Static bypass withstands inrush current up to 10× nominal input current.

  • IEC 60269 standard gG fuses clear faults within 10 ms to prevent fault propagation

Parallel & Redundant Scalability

Supports standalone operation, N+1 redundant parallel systems and dual parallel load-sharing configurations for flexible capacity expansion.
Independent System Surveillance (ISS) continuously monitors all critical components (rectifier, inverter, bypass, battery) to avoid system lockup or unplanned shutdown.
Separate modular rectifier and inverter power blocks can be stocked as spare parts to minimise downtime, featuring industry-leading high MTBF, long service life and minimal routine maintenance.

Universal Battery Compatibility

Supports lead-acid, NiCd, lithium-ion and sodium nickel batteries with DC voltage options of 110 / 125 / 220 / 400 VDC. Fully programmable charging parameters:
  • Float voltage: 100–115% adjustable

  • Boost equalisation voltage: 100–125% adjustable.

  • Boost charge duration: 1–24 hours programmable.

  • Built-in functions include automatic battery capacity discharge test, battery temperature monitoring and DC ground fault alarm for full battery safety oversight.

3. Fully Customisable Design for Global Industrial Applications

Wide Voltage & Power Range

  • Rectifier / bypass three-phase input voltages: 380 / 400 / 415 / 480 / 600 / 690 V and custom options for global grids

  • Three-phase output voltages: 208 / 380 / 400 / 415 V

  • Power ratings: 20 kVA to 220 kVA; higher capacities and special voltages available on request

  • Intermediate DC bus voltages: 110 / 125 / 220 / 400 VDC to match all battery bank setups

Extensive Optional Add-Ons

  • Power quality optimisation: Input harmonic filter, bypass stabiliser transformer, voltage limiting unit for Forsmark event compliance

  • Power distribution: Built-in battery MCCB, downstream distribution panels, Independent Static Bypass Switch (ISBS), output EA static switch
