Before commencing the installation
Disconnect the power supply of the device.Secure againstretriggeringVerify isolation from the supply
Ground and short-circuitCover or enclose neighbouring units that are live.Follow the mounting instructions (AWA/IL) for the deviceOnly suitably qualified personnel in accordance withEN 50 110-1/-2 (VDE 0105 Part 100) may work on thisdevice/system.
Before installation and before touching the device ensurethat you are free of electrostatic chargeThe functional earth (FE) must be connected to theprotective earth (PE) or to the equipotential bonding. Thesystem installer is responsible for implementing thisconnection.Connecting cables and signal lines should be installed insuch a way thatinductive and capacitive interference willnot have a negative impact on the automation functions.Install automation devices and related operating elementsin such a way that they are well protected againstunintentional operation.Suitable safety hardware and software measures shouldbe implemented for the I/0 interface so that cable or wirebreakage on the signal side will not result in undefinedstates in the automation devices
Ensure a reliable electrical isolation of the low voltage forthe 24 V supply. Only use power supply units complyingwith IEC 60364-4-41 or HD 384.4.41 S2 (VDE 0100 Part 410)Deviations of the mains voltage from the nominal valuemust not exceed the tolerance limits given in thespecifications, otherwise this may result in malfunctionand hazardous states.Emergency stop devices complying with IEC/EN 60204-1must remain functional in all of the automation devices'operating modes. Unlatching the emergency stop devicesmust not result in an automatic restart.Built-in devices for enclosures or cabinets must only berun and operated in an installed state; desktop devicesand portable devices only when the housing is closed.Measures should be taken to ensure the proper restartingof programs interrupted after a voltage dip or outage. Thisshould not result in dangerous operating states even for ashort time. If necessary, emergency stop devices shouldbe implemented
Wherever faults in the automation system may causedamage to persons or property, external measures mustbe implemented to ensure a safe operating state in theevent of a fault or malfunction (for example, by means ofseparate limit switches, mechanical interlocks, etc.).

In order to program XControl, you will need XSOFT-CODESYS-3programming software version 3.5.9 or higher.
1.2 Communications and interfaces - decentralized expansion
Modular PLCs XControl: XC-104-.., XC-204-.., XC-303-.. support distributed
expansion with the use of fieldbus interfaces. The following communication
protocols are supported by the corresponding interfaces as follows:
