Bently Nevada 3500/42-09-01 Proximitor/Seismic Monitor: Flexible Four-Channel Vibration and Position Measurement
Overview

The Bently Nevada™ 3500/42-09-01 Proximitor/Seismic Monitor is a versatile four-channel module that accepts input from proximity and seismic transducers, conditions the signal to provide vibration and position measurements, and compares the conditioned signals with user-programmable alarms. Configured with the 09 I/O module option (internal terminations for Proximitor/Seismoprobe configurations) and 01 agency approval (CSA/NRTL/C), this variant is optimized for standard industrial applications requiring reliable machinery protection and condition monitoring.

Description
The primary purpose of the 3500/42M monitor is twofold: to provide machinery protection by continuously comparing monitored parameters against configured alarm setpoints, and to deliver essential machine information for operations and maintenance personnel. Each channel can be independently programmed using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to perform a wide range of measurement functions, including radial vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, eccentricity, REBAM, acceleration, velocity, shaft absolute, and circular acceptance region.
The monitor channels are programmed in pairs, enabling up to two different measurement functions to be executed simultaneously. For example, Channels 1 and 2 can perform one function while Channels 3 and 4 perform another, or all four channels can execute the same function when paired appropriately.
Key Features and Benefits
Four-Channel Flexibility: Accepts from 1 to 4 proximity, velocity, or acceleration transducer signals, with each channel independently programmable for specific measurement tasks.
Comprehensive Measurement Capabilities: Supports radial vibration, thrust position, differential expansion, eccentricity, REBAM, acceleration, velocity, shaft absolute, and circular acceptance region measurements, covering the vast majority of rotating machinery monitoring requirements.
Dual-Purpose Functionality: Provides both machinery protection through alarm setpoint comparison and essential diagnostic information for operations and maintenance teams.
Programmable Alarm Setpoints: Users can configure Alert setpoints for each active static value and Danger setpoints for any two of the active static values, with alarm accuracy within 0.13% of the desired value.
Internal Termination Design: The 09 I/O module option provides internal terminations for Proximitor/Seismoprobe configurations, eliminating the need for external termination blocks and simplifying cabinet wiring.
Front Panel Diagnostics: Equipped with OK, TX/RX, and Bypass LED indicators for rapid visual verification of module operating status and communication activity.
